Marshall County Release Records
A release means that one agency ended its custody. It does not always mean the person went home. A person can leave Marshall County Jail on bond, after time served, under a court order, or for probation. The same jail departure can also be a transfer to the Tennessee Department of Correction, another county, federal custody, immigration custody, or a hospital. Marshall County Release Types

A death may appear as a departure in database terms, but it must never be treated as an ordinary release. Ask the custodian for the precise disposition when the label is unclear.
Marshall County Release Record Fields

The court file answers a different part of the story. It can show a bond order, judgment, sentence, jail credit, probation, revocation, dismissal, or expunction. Inspection is free. Copying is not charged unless the duplication amount exceeds one dollar. Standard black-and-white letter or legal pages cost $0.15 each. Labor is charged at the actual staff rate after the first hour, while vendor work and mailing are charged at cost. Prepayment may be required when an estimate exceeds ten dollars. Cash or a personal check payable to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is accepted under the published policy.

Marshall County Release Record Law
The Tennessee Public Records Act, chiefly TCA sections 10-7-503 through 10-7-506, governs access to identifiable existing records. It does not require an office to research a question or create a new explanation. Available open records should be produced promptly. If that is not practical, the custodian must act within seven business days by producing the records, denying the request with a basis, or stating the added time reasonably needed.
Release material is not open without limit. Juvenile information, expunged or sealed material, protected victim data, medical details, personal identifiers, active investigative material under an exemption, and jail-security facts may be withheld or redacted. An expunction under TCA section 40-32-101 can remove public records for qualifying outcomes or convictions. Release by itself does not cause expunction, and a missing record does not prove that an expunction occurred.
Ask for the maintained record. If material is withheld, request the open remainder and the statute supporting the decision.
Bonded Marshall County Releases
A Marshall County jail departure on bond is a custody change, not a completed case. First obtain the release sheet and look for the actual release time and a bond, recognizance, or court-order disposition. Then get the bond order and docket from the court that handled the case. A court may set a bond before payment and jail processing are complete. Another hold can also prevent departure after bond is set.
No official local bond schedule was verified. The jail and originating court are the right sources for the amount and type in a specific case. Later hearings, dismissal, plea, trial, sentence, or revocation remain outside the release sheet, so a final case status must come from the later docket.
Find Marshall County Released Inmates
Start with the last confirmed custodian. Marshall County does not publish a verified official 24-hour or 72-hour release feed, roster archive, or release gallery. A person missing from an unofficial current roster may have bonded out, completed time, transferred, entered another agency's custody, or appeared under a different spelling. Silence is not proof of release.
- For a county-only arrest, call Marshall County Jail and ask whether the event was community release or transfer. Request the named release record.
- For a felony sentence or TDOC transfer, search FOIL by TDOC ID when possible, or use the name fields and compare the photo and identifiers.

Community supervision means incarceration ended but TDOC control remains.

Marshall County Release Court Records
Release verification can cross more than one Marshall County clerk. General Sessions is often the first local file for misdemeanor bond, time-served, and probation events. Circuit Criminal handles felonies and misdemeanor appeals. Lewisburg, Cornersville, and Chapel Hill also have city clerks for matters in their own jurisdictions. Marshall County Release Supervision
The Tennessee Board of Parole decides parole. TDOC Community Supervision enforces state parole and felony probation. The Lewisburg District 50 office is the local state-supervision contact, while Marshall County Probation handles qualifying local misdemeanor cases. These offices sit near the jail, but they hold different records and do not replace the jail release sheet.
FOIL is the public starting point for a state offender. District 50 may clarify supervision as disclosure rules allow. A county probation order should be checked with Marshall County Probation. TDOC requires a probationer to report within 48 hours after placement on probation or release from split confinement, so leaving jail may bring an immediate reporting duty. Marshall County Federal Release Checks
VINE is a prospective alert service. Tennessee confirms statewide TDOC coverage, but the official announcement did not specifically list Marshall County Jail participation. Select Tennessee, search one person by name or offender ID, open the correct result, and register for a channel offered by the live interface. A no-result response cannot prove release. If TDOC releases someone on a county detainer, Tennessee SAVIN tracking may continue in the receiving county system.
For federal prison custody, the BOP inmate locator searches by federal identifier or name and demographic filters. “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” ends BOP custody only. Another jail or supervised release may still apply. ICE ODLS covers current detainees and people released from ICE custody within its recent 60-day window. An ICE result does not by itself distinguish community release, transfer, or removal. USMS has no comparable public historical release locator.

Does a missing name prove release? No. The person may have transferred, fallen outside a database window, used another spelling, or have a sealed, expunged, or juvenile record. Begin with the last confirmed custodian.
Verify Marshall County Tennessee Sources
Marshall County is prone to same-name source errors. Search results prominently surface sheriff and jail pages from Alabama and Iowa. Those sites may have more visible rosters, apps, photographs, or release dates, but none describes a Tennessee custody event. The wrong page can create a false claim even when the person has the same name.

A Guntersville address or 256 number points to Alabama. A 641 number points to Iowa. Screenshots should pass the same check before publication or sharing.
